Wall Street analysts have since been looking for the company to raise prices for Plus, which is geared toward larger merchants. The price change is a 25% increase. A Plus subscription gives merchants access to more features and services, like Shopify's B2B tools and its customer-acquisition product Shopify Audiences. At the time of publishing, Shopify's stock is up 3% to around $88 compared to an opening price of $85.

Shares of Shopify jumped as much as 9% in early trading Thursday after the Canadian e-commerce company said it struck a deal with Amazon to offer its "Buy with Prime" program to merchants. The companies announced late Wednesday that U.S.-based Shopify merchants will soon be able to access Amazon's Buy with Prime service, which allows them to add the Prime logo and offer Amazon's quick-turnaround delivery options on their storefronts. Members of Amazon's Prime loyalty club can check out using their Amazon accounts. Shopify President Harley Finkelstein later suggested the company was "in talks" with Amazon about integrating Buy with Prime on its platform. As part of the deal, Buy with Prime will be accessible via Shopify's checkout service, and transactions will be processed by Shopify Payments.

"Soon, Shopify merchants who also use Amazon’s fulfillment network will have the option to add the Buy with Prime app from our app ecosystem directly into Shopify Checkout, processed by Shopify Payments," the company said. The company said the new app would enable Shopify merchants to give Prime members access to Prime benefits like fast and free delivery outside of Amazon.com for the first time ever. Merchants and businesses have been turning to Shopify, which offers tools to create and manage online store-fronts, as retail spending picks up on signs of stabilizing macroeconomic conditions.

Shopify launched a beta version of an AI-powered assistant for its help center, the webpage where merchants can go to get answers to questions about running their business. In June, Shopify began asking some support staff to test a translation bot powered by OpenAI's technology. Its support staff already had the ability to use AI-generated template email responses to merchant inquiries. The bot can recommend products sold by Shopify merchants based on shoppers' answers to a series of questions.
